Book of Remembrance that documents the family of Louise Penrose Lietz. She principally compiled the book while she attended and taught Junior Genealogical Classes sponsored by the Genealogical Society of Utah in the LeGrand Ward of Salt Lake City, 1939-1941. The collection includes 150 photographs, circa 1865-1945, and chiefly copies of portrait photographs that depict her extended family with extensive identification information. Some annotations and materials date through 1987, probably added by her sister, Marie Penrose Lietz, who married Bert Lietz in 1952. Besides documenting her immediate family, the collection provides significant documentation about her paternal grandfather, Charles William Penrose, including typescripts of his writings and some correspondence. Other significant information includes material collected for the funeral services for her maternal aunt Hansina Dorthea Bertha Jensen Woodruff, and references to the death of her teenage son, Vaugn Penrose Lietz. Surnames for families with significant representation in the collection include Burnham, Jensen, Lietz, Penrose, and Woodruff.
